fuckyeahhistorycrushes: This is Gerda Taro, one of the first female photo journalists and an incredibly brave and talented woman with a beauty and style to match (just look at those shoes). She went to the Spanish Civil war as protege and lover of photographer Robert Capa but became a republican icon and photographer in her own right. Sadly she was killed in an accident with a tank in Spain in 1937.
